What these guides cover

AI girlfriends, AI boyfriends and AI companions are a new kind of product, and most of what's written about them is either a sales pitch or a ranked list. These guides try to do something plainer: explain how the technology works, what it can and can't give you, what you'll usually pay, and what to check before you trust an app with your conversations.

What you won't find here: rankings, scores, “top ten” lists or explicit content. The guides are written for adults, they stay safe to read at work, and they're meant to help you decide for yourself, including deciding that an AI companion isn't for you.

In the guides we don't name, price or score other apps, and we don't publish ratings or testimonials. Anything we say about Lerk AI is checked against its code and live data, and every page shows the date it was last updated. Our editorial approach explains the rest, including how to send a correction.
